It’s that time of the year again. Time to bring joy and good memories to your life album. With the festive season and nice weather, get ready to enjoy month number 12 of the year; “Happy December”!!
Living in UAE sometimes might seem like limiting your options on where to go or what to do. But in fact, beautiful UAE has so many things you can do “Single” or “Family” wise.
As a start, The Global Village is a must this year.
Last night we finished work at 6:00 and decided to give it a visit. We went with my mom who’s visiting us and staying for Christmas and New Year (YAY ME!! :D), our cousin and his prego wife, and our 2 years old princess but not our 4 months prince.
We hit the road at around 7:30. It took us about 35 to 40 minutes (driving from Sharjah).
Celebrating their 20th birthday, the Global Village team did an amazing job. I’ve been living in UAE for 5 years but this year they were at their best!
They’ve added lots of famous attractions from all over the world and changed some of the countries’ looks. They also added water fountains and introduced a taxi train – which was my daughter’s favorite off course :).
I’ll post some pictures but this is not all – once you’re walking with an excited toddler you can do only little 😉
Will start with the entrance. It was made as an illustration of the “Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque” in Abu Dhabi.
After passing the entrance gates you’ll go into a big space to see “Burj Khalifah”, “Effel Tower”, “London Clock Tower”, “London Buss”, “Statue of Liberty” and some more..
Going through the entrance it self was a WOW scenery.
While walking through the village, I noticed that they have added Hollywood. And this comes with a feature 😉
As you know, the village has an entertainment program every year. But this year, they have added a new one called “Hollywood Stunt Show”!! Unfortunately we missed it as it ended on December 12th 😦
This was to show how famous Hollywood stunts are done. From car chases to bike drills. And it was the first kind of show in the GCC.
Last but not least, I can never walk out of the “Global Village” without eating a grilled corn and some few teeny-tiny bags of chestnuts 😉 not to forget the Emirates traditional sweets “Gemat” (YUM YUM).
Entrance ticket price: 15 AED
Fridays: Strict Family days except for Holidays
