As a working mom, I always look forward to the weekend (which is Friday & Saturday in the UAE). But to me Friday is different at all times as this is the only day we spend it as a family of 4 (hubs works on Saturdays 😦 ) and thus we try to squeeze everything out of Friday :D.
The Friday before Christmas, we decided to try out the brunch at The Collective Dubai and were so glad we did!
The Collective Dubai is located at the beautiful Grand Hyatt Hotel in a perfect setting where you can enjoy your food in a tropical indoor garden! You can choose to sit by the water and watch the fish pass by or somewhere facing the relaxing beautiful greens.
As for the food spread, it consisted of 4 main sections: The Levantine Emporium, the Grill, the Indian section and the Bakery. (I’m sorry I don’t have so much photos as I was so busy eating and looking after the kiddos 😀 )
At the Levantine section, you’ll find a range of hot and cold mezza (appetizers), salads, live pasta station along some other fresh baked Pides (Turkish style pizzas), Kebabs, Falafel and Tagines.
The Grill section was my second favorite (following the desserts counter off course 😛 ). There you can have your meet, chicken, kebab, steak, ribs, prawn and burger done as per your preferred taste, in addition to the yummiest “Fish of the Day” I’ve ever had and off course the soup (tomato, seafood & lentil).
Then comes the Indian counter. I have to say, I’m not an expert here but what I knew from others, the selection at The Collective is not seen everywhere. It has some rare and uncommon dishes and they take pride in serving it ;). You’ll for sure see the Biryani and Butter chicken, but as an added value, you’ll find a few of authentic Parsi dishes like Keema Pav, Parsi delicacy and Patrani Machi.
And then comes the Bakery which was my favorite as I have a quite sweet tooth. The bakery had a wide selection of mouth watering freshly baked desserts: cakes, cookies, Arabic & Indian desserts, pies, meringues and much more. I tried almost everything 😀 but the one that I really wanted to have more from was the dates brownie with vanilla ice-cream.
At the bakery as well, you can have your bread freshly served out of the oven and that smells and tastes great.
The kids are not forgotten at The Collective Dubai as they have a special section to enjoy where fish fingers, chicken nuggets and fries are served. Also they’ll have their popcorn, marshmallows, M&Ms and much more treats to munch on.
Last but not least, and after all the food you have eaten and calories you’ve gained, you may enjoy a cup of Moroccan tea, Masala Chai or even a fresh juice over the counter.
As an overall experience, we had a great time at The Collective Dubai and enjoyed a perfect brunch in an amazing setting.
The Friday brunch is priced at 219 AED per person (soft beverages included).
